Friday

Nurotevil dropped by this morning at my house and tells me he is pretty tired. Not only has he clocked up the mileage in my place this week, he also has been surviving on 5 hours of sleep (or less) since last Sunday. In addition to running, he has a fairly hectic social schedule- meeting up with friends for dinner, drinks. Naturally, he is lacking adequate rest. He had also run an easy 10k with Ronnie at KLCC park on Friday evening, with an average lap of about 7:15. I was further informed that after the run, he met Julian, one of runners who is also a saxophonist (or better known as "sexyphonist" among certain quarters of the pm group). Julian had passed him the NB Pacesetters 15k forms together with the money, and thinking that I knew Carboman better, maybe I could hand the forms and the money to the superhero, hence his visit to me this morning.

Nurotevil further tells me that although he has slept almost 10 hours, he is still pretty tired and will crash again once he reaches home. He needs all the rest he can get because he is competing in tomorrow's Nilai Half Marathon. Still, he intends to run another easy 8k today, because he's not really focussing on tomorrow's race- rather, it is the Pacesetters 15k race (which is about 2 months away) that he intends to go all out for. And, he echoed Arthur Lydiard's words of wisdom in saying "You can't train hard and race hard at the same time."

I wished him luck!
