Wednesday, 17/3/2005 and a little bit of Thursday, 18/3/2005

Arrived at KLCC around 630pm and most of the gang were almost done or in the middle of their workouts. The intention was to run at recovery pace. After running 2 laps on my own and passing Newton a few times (who was running in the opposite direction) I decided to stop and wait for the fellas who were running together- pm1, pm3 and Kenny. I saw Ajeep who just completed his workout.

Lo and behold I saw the fellas and joined them. Pm1 said he was tired, they have run 4 laps, and they were running at a 7:30 per lap pace- which I thought was an ok pace to recover. After running almost 400 metres with them, I knew for a fact that we were NOT running at that pace- and the time splits showed after the completion of the lap- 6:15!!! That was waaay too fast! Somewhere along the way Karim joined us too. Anyway I continued and by the beginning of the 3rd lap with the fellas, pm1 dropped out due to pains on his knee. It was down to Kenny, pm3 and myself. By the end of that lap, pm3 and Kenny decided that they had enough. I also stopped temporarily. Then I decided to run in the opposite direction, at a recovery pace of 8:00 per lap. Kenny and Ajeep joined me, and we ran another 2 easy laps.

All in all, I ran 7 laps which more or less totalled 9km.

This morning (Thursday) I woke up early and arrived at KLCC park by 715am. Went for another recovery run of 4km. Showered at the gym, had breakfast and here I am typing this!

It's track training today. More of that later.

Their claims are NOT to be trusted. I knew from the looks that they were hitting 6:20. By the time you joined in it dropped to 6:15

hahaha! Ya lah! I know. Kenny was doing most of the front running ala Prefontaine. Too bad I didn't get to see your good performance in training.
