One last push
It's 17 days to the Singapore Marathon!
Screw all the expectations of everyone- run the race at a pace that you feel is the most comfortable to you. After all, it is you who knows your body the best.
Last night was spent doing a "post-mortem" of my running this year, what I've achieved and what I've failed.
There are some positives to come out of it. Every race was a learning experience.
For starters, I PRed in my 10k this year, at the MPSJ run. I ran a smiliar time at Klang. I also PRed in the half marathon- in KLIM, and I ran pretty well in Nilai too.
The team finished 3rd in the 4 x 3km relay.
Even though I ran a bad race in the 15k, I learnt something from there.
Notice that all these were achieved in the 1st half of the year.
July onwards, I suppose running took a bit of a downtime, in terms of my performance. Although I tried to make as much time as I possibly could, other pressing matters had to be done. My wedding, for starters. My room, which was refurbished, job searches, attending interviews, and so forth. The lack of running showed- honestly, I was tired. I was very tired during Putrajaya, and the PJ Half.
Good
1) 21k- KLIM;
2) 21k- Nilai;
3) 10k- MPSJ,
4) 10k- Klang;
5) 4 x 3k- Bukit Jalil;
Bad
1) NB 15k
Tired
1) Putrajaya
2) PJ Half
In short- 1st half of the year- good. 2nd half- tired already. Which is fine, I think, because you can't burn the candle all the time. Training (and racing) should consist of peaks and valleys.
I have been tired for some time now. Despite the break from running during my wedding/honeymoon period, the legs still feel tired. Maybe I need a short break.
I will give it one last push before taking a week (or 2) off.

1 Comments:
I know what you did the last first half year. Keep up for the 2nd half year. Run your first ever full marathon with grace and style.
