Elixir to stay awake- coffee
The past 2 days have been a daze for me.
Work is seriously piling up and the stress levels have affected me to the point that I not only feel exhausted mentally, but physically. My run yesterday evening perfectly illustrated that.
I planned to leave the office on the dot yesterday but was given some last minute work at about 4:00pm that required completion.
I only managed to leave the office at 730pm and started my run at 745pm. My legs felt stiff from the hours under the air con. I started my run at KLCC park feeling tired, and hoped that by the 3rd round or so I would feel better, but I didnt. I started out at 6:35 per lap, but as the laps progressed my times worsened, to the point of 7:05 per lap. Nonetheless I plodded on and managed to complete 8 laps.
Breakfast this morning was with Jamie- over our Chapattis, we groaned about how little sleep we were getting because of where we stay- him at Puchong and me at Subang. I am pretty tired from lack of sleep. Every weekday that I wake up (at 6:10am), I always feel I could do with at least 2 extra hours of sleep. Im not a Steve Prefontaine or Dean Karnazes, both of whom are elite runners who reputedly survive(d) on 5 hours of sleep or less. As Im typing this, I feel so sleepy- I think my head might just hit the keyboard anytime soon.
My running in the weeks after NB 15k has reduced. Generally, I run about 70k a week.
Lunch was with Jamie and
The sun and heat are absolutely ferocious. Wont be heading to track today, but will be at KLCC park. It will be an oven today.
