An end to the month of March which thankfully flew by, considering how slow the month of February dragged by for me. I managed to run 4 times last week, all during the week days. The weekends were no goes as far as running was concerned- too many things to do, too little time.
For those of you following the English Premier League, you will know that the front runners, Man City lost more ground over the weekend with a draw against Sunderland. And they had to salvage a seemingly impossible position- 1-3 down with 10 minutes (or so0 to go, before fighting back to draw 3-3. With Man U only playing later today (a difficult away trip against Blackburn), the match against the Black Cats was a chance to at least draw level on points. The league title is now surely Man U's to lose. They have not played well this season and their season apparently looked on the brink of collapse as injuries to key players at various points in the season (in addition to other reasons) affected their performances in the other competitions they were contesting in- the Champions League, then the Europa League, and the FA Cup. But they managed to keep apace with Man City in the league, keeping within striking distance. Certainly they'll have to take it match by match, and not take anything for granted, but in my opinion, they have the experience of the older heads (Giggs, Scholes et al) together with Sir Alex to drum it into the younger players not to muck about; and to safely guide / lead them to the finish line and the light towards the end of the tunnel. This at least is what I hope and wish for, but there may be more twists and turns in the remaining 8 matches.
I woke up this morning at 7am feeling colder than usual and when I looked out the window I found out why- there was a heavy thunderstorm, the sort of weather you wished took place on a weekend so that you can have a very nice, long sleep in, and just wake up naturally instead of having the alarm clock jolt you awake. Still, it is a week to look forward to- a 4 day working week. Good Friday is a holiday here. The weather has alternated between extremely hot (as was the case yesterday afternoon) to heavy thunderstorm. I just hope that the weather holds up enough for me to have my run home.
Have a good week ahead.
