Ho hum. That is pretty much the life for me, day in, day out- crawling out of bed at 7am, leaving the apartment by 730am for work, starting work at 815am, lunch (usually alone) at 1pm, then leaving the office by 630pm and running home. Back home, it's cooking dinner, washing up my daughter, having dinner, putting daughter to sleep. Rinse and repeat, Mondays to Fridays. That said, the best part of the (remainder of the day) begins when I leave the office and start my run. Then I am home, seeing my 2 lovely daughters whom I love so much.
Last weekend roads around the Marina Bay and CBD were closed for the OCBC cycling event. Which meant that traffic in the vicinity (and maybe slightly beyond) was affected. Well, at least on the roads that I was driving on, which tested my patience quite significantly. Luckily the outlet to release stress was there for me- running, and boy did I hammer it in my time trial distance of 5000 metres on the track. I was happy with my level of fitness and ensuing timing, something which I can't complain about given the proportional "training" I have been putting in.
I will be back in KL this weekend, and boy do I look forward to it. I have been feeling quite jaded and burnt out, so a short break will be a welcome respite.
