Singaporean women are only better looking because of better grooming

Thanks to everyone for their kind words. There's nothing like experiencing the marathon first-hand and I am certainly wiser. If I run another marathon again, I will certainly prepare for it.

The marathon is an event to be respected. I think one should set aside a minimum of 18 weeks of specific marathon training. The most important workout would be the long runs. 2nd most important would be the tempo runs.

I haven't run a step since the marathon. My soreness has abated somewhat. I might be able to run from Saturday onwards. The past 2 days have been spent in the office, doing my work.

Can't wait to start running again. My next race will be KLIM, which is in March next year. I will run the 21k. Training in the month of December could be difficult, with Christmas coming up in a mere 19 days.

Before the wife is even back from Singapore, she informed me that there is another 5 day trip to be made to Singapore prior to Christmas. I am tempted to go, because I didn't have the chance to do any shopping for CDs and clothes. See how it goes. I'm rather put off by the amount of time spent travelling, and the horrendous traffic back to KL from Seremban onwards.

For faster recovery, you should try a very-slow-&-short jog today. Need not wait till this weekend.

I agree with you. We need at least 16 to 18 weeks of conditioning before we would be able to run a marathon 'in a proper manner'. Without conditioning, we are inviting injuries only and it makes the whole running experience much worse not to mentioned cramps etc. during the race.
