Paula Radcliffe wins the Marathon
I've been feeling under the weather the past 4 days.
I was struck down with diahhrea and fever and I think I'm finally over it today.
It all started on Thursday when I started purging and had my fever. I purged no less than 6 times on Thursday alone! I was bed-ridden from 5pm onwards. Jeanne remarked that I was really hot. My urine revealed that I was either quite dehydrated or I hadn't drank enough. In any case I needed lotsa fluid and rest.
I felt much better on Friday but not before purging another 3 times before heading to KL for lunch with Jamie, Newton, Kenneth, Li-Hung and his wife. I was still having a mild fever.
It was nice to have finally met Li-Hung.
Being the stubborn @#$%&!* I am, I still went to the gym for my workout. I ran on the treadmill and completed 11k at a leisurely pace.
I paid the price for my folly- I was really, really tired after that. Oh yeah, and my purging continued.
I decided to spend the whole of Saturday resting eventhough the skies were starting to clear up. Hallelujah! It is truly fantastic to breathe cleaner air again.
I received a call from Adam on Saturday morning asking me to join him, Ronnie and Kenny for Sunday's morning run. I agreed. After all, it would be nice to run outdoors again!
Sunday- met John and Adam at the Bukit Aman car park. Ronnie and Kenny were nowhere to be seen. We were very excited to run outdoors again after so long. We ran at an easy pace and arrived at Sri Hartamas in about 55 minutes. On the way back, something happened- I started experiencing some pain on my right groin and had to finally stop around 2k after the Jalan Duta tennis stadium. I walked back the entire way. At the time the pain was bad enough for me to stop running; I feared the worst. But I'm happy to report that it's all well and good today. Maybe it is a slight strain. Anyway, instead of the 20k, I ran around 15-16k before taking a very long walk back. It seemed like eternity anyway.
The skies are clear again. Long may that continue.
