Legalise It

On Monday I felt ok enough to run an easy 16k. No pain or strains on my legs. Monday was also the day that I received an sms from a handphone number that I didn't recognise. I received the sms around 7pm. The sender of the sms stated that my (stolen) wallet was found! I immediately called the number and a youthful sounding girl answered. She told me that it was her father who found my wallet, with all the contents in it, i.e. my credit card, my i.c (unbelievable!!!), my ATM cards, my membership cards (most of which were of no use to me since I already cancelled them anyway, but I haven't gone to replace my i.c. as yet, so getting my wallet with my i.c. back would have saved me getting a fine, and having to replace the i.c.). I could hear her father in the background, literally barking out orders to this girl, instructing her what to tell me, which was funny because his voice was loud enough for me to hear what he said, and his daughter merely repeated it verbatim. So I heard the same message twice. My wallet was found in Cheras, near a school! It travelled pretty far from Subang, don't you think? Anyway her father wanted to meet with me the very same night, at a spot. Initially I agreed , but when I relayed this to my mother, Jeanne and my future mom-in-law, they thought it was too dangerous for me. "What if this fella wants to rob you when you meet him?" "What if this is some sort of scam?" etc. It was then agreed that the wallet was to be handed over to the Cheras Police Station, and I can collect it from there.

I went to the police station and lo and behold, it was my wallet. It stank of rubbish but everything in there were still intact, minus the money of course. I threw away the wallet but washed the other cards that I could still use. I doused the cards in Dettol soap for a few minutes.

Tuesday- Track Tuesday. Once again, having assessed that I was feeling ok, I decided to go to track. I warmed up with 6 easy kms, before the menu started:-

6 x 1000 meters (times of 4:08 (Coach said that I was too slow and told me to increase the pace), then 3:55, 3:53, 3:51, 3:49, 3:37)

5 x 400 meters (average times of 1:44, last rep in 1:20).

Ajeep was there (in his recovery mode after his biking accident) and an appropriate time to be there too- there were some eye candy for him!

A slight downer- when I arrived home my left knee felt the strain of the workout. I could not put any weight on it. I decided to rest today.

Hence here I am blogging, when I should be at KLCC park running with the gang.

Will have to assess my condition again tomorrow- if I'm still feeling the strain I might head to the gym and cycle instead.
