Thursday workout

Started out earlier than the planned time of 625pm to log in extra mileage to make up for the fact that I didn't run yesterday. Did a full Carcosa route plus 500 meters, making it a total 6km, before joining the gang for the planned menu of the 4 x 2.8km Carcosa-and-back-into-Lake Gardens loop. I was struggling to keep pace with the Ronnie, who was running a hard pace today. If I didn't know any better, I would have thought he was trying to take away the kick of a certain runner who was running with us, because at the very first loop he was already pushing the pace. He was no more that 10 meters ahead of me. That lasted until our planned final loop. We were about to take the steps leading up to Carcosa but had to make a u-turn and run the 2.3km loop instead as the gates were already closed. Ronnie was really pushing the pace and try as I might, I couldn't keep pace with him as we completed the 1st km (of the 2.3km) with the Lake to our left. He continued to surged as we made the left turn and it was then that I was finally dropped. I think he finished the loop a full 40 meters ahead of me, if I'm not mistaken, but the objective of my workout was already met- I needed the mileage to make up for my lack of running yesterday. Total mileage- 16.7km.
