post CNY period
Its been a slight while since my last post, partly due to the heavy load of work (what else is new?) and partly due to the fact that there has been nothing exciting to report. I leave the office slightly earlier now, around 730-830pm-ish, although last week was up and down- Monday and Thursday I managed to leave by 630pm, which is a very rare occasion. Of course, I try to make as much out of my workouts as I possibly can given the limited time I already have. However, as I mentioned before, I still have the weekends free which is a bonus. Last Saturday and Sunday were no exception- RPMed, followed by 45-60 minutes running on the treadmill. Last night I followed it up with a walk back to my apartment after my workout at the gym in Paragon, Orchard Road. In addition to the post workout walking around the shopping centres (non-stop), it took me another 30 minutes back to my apartment in Newton.
Went back to KL during the 1st and 2nd week of February- 2nd Feb was my brother's wedding. The week after, it was the Chinese New Year. Stayed at my grandma's place for one night before heading to KL.
Mrs Rabbit's travels have been rather extensive in the last 2 weeks. She's now in Indonesia for a company trip. It can get lonely here when you are relatively new to a place (I've been here 8 months now- time flies eh?) with no friends. Without a car here, it can be difficult to get around too, unless you're willing to pay for taxi, or take the public transport. Of late I've been keeping myself entertained in the apartment by watching DVDs. Sadly, the new-ish DVD player that I bought from Carrefour less than 6 months ago has kaput-ed. I'm now deciding between buying a new one or sending it to get fixed. Even if I want to get it fixed, I don't even know where to send it. And even if I do send it, if it will cost more than buying a new one, then I might as well buy a new one.
Work was ok today. Managed to leave at 630pm, in time for RPM at 7pm. Gym is just a few minutes away.
Will be back in KL during the Good Friday weekend. Maybe you don't know this, but it is a public holiday here in Singapore on Good Friday. With Air Asia now able to fly to and fro Singapore, I have booked a flight for Thursday night. Looking forward to March 20th.
Another thing- in the office this afternoon, I suddenly felt giddy for about 1 minute. My boss came out of her room immediately and asked if we felt it. Felt what? I wondered. She said that there were tremors! This was followed up by a general announcement "ladies & gents, there have been reports of tremor in the building. please remain calm. no evacuation is required at this moment. we are currently investigating and we'll update you shortly. if you have any information to report, please call xxxxxxx". We evacuated our floors and stood outside for about 20 minutes, before being given the all clear to return to the building.
