ACIDO
I am paying the price for the partying and physical exertions of the last 4 days. I am tired and sore all over. A triple shot of espresso early in the morning did little to help. Allow me to give you to the details on a day-to-day basis, the scope of my activities (and pardon the lack of writing style):-
Friday- travelled to Woodlands checkpoint via taxi. I didn't want to wait for the bus. Arrived in JB around 830pm, after queuing 20 minutes for the bus to take us across. If I was alone, I would've lugged my luggage and walked across. Cousin picked me and Mrs Rabbit up around 835pm, and headed to my aunt's café located somewhere in JB for dinner. After dinner, we left JB at 10pm, whereupon I drove all the way back to KL. Arrived in KL around 1am. Hit the sack around 2am, but it took sometime for me to fall asleep because my mind still felt wide awake after concentrating on driving. We stayed at my in-laws. Wished my wife Happy Birthday.
Saturday- alarm clock rang at 830am. Those hours just flew by! I woke up to head to Subang. Had some things to do, in addition to having breakfast with my mother. Dad was out playing golf. 11:45am, back to in-laws' house. There was a birthday lunch do for Mrs Rabbit. Got ready; dressed up, then began entertaining her friends. People remarked how tired I looked. We finished around 4pm. Napped for an hour. Woke up, headed to Lake Gardens to walk/run with Mrs Rabbit. We did about 8km. Then, dinner with the in-laws, before heading out to Bangsar for drinks with Mrs Rabbit's friends, until 2am. Headed to SS2 to buy Heroes DVD, Season 2. Bed 3.40am.
Sunday- bluergh. woke up at 815am. Church. Then breakfast with my parents. We headed to the IT Centre located at what used to be Metro Jaya, near Jaya Supermarket at Section 14. Bought a 17 inch flat screen monitor for father-in-law. Then headed back to in-laws, napped for an hour too short. Woke up and decided (stupidly) to begin watching the DVD I bought. Ended up watching 5 episodes. Evening- back to Lake Gardens again for another 8km run/walk. Dinner with in-laws. After that- drinks with a friend, until 12am. Stayed in Subang this time. I stupidly watched more tv before finally going to bed. I just feel more awake at night.
Monday- Woke up at 8am. Breakfast with my mom. It was her birthday. Had mee sua with hard boiled egg. Had to leave the house by 10am because we had made an appointment to have another walking session with Jeanne's friends. 10:30am at Lake Gardens we walked the Carcosa route. Then headed to Bangsar for lunch at Nirwana's, before walking around in Bangsar Village, while Mrs Rabbit went for her facial/errands. We were having a party for my mom's birthday, so we headed back to Subang. 12am we wished each other a Happy New Year. Waited for the last of the guests to leave, before we started helping to clear the tables and do the cleaning. Finished at 3am. By the time we showered, etc, we went to bed at 4am. It took me another hour to finally fall asleep.
Tuesday- alarm set for 6am. When I heard it, my initial thought was- I had just shut my eyes! Harboured thoughts of not going to the Der Pacemakers Network Run but I have already kept my word and decided to go. Yawned all the way to Lake Gardens. The run was set for 6 loops. I planned to complete it. The notion of running a decent time did not cross my mind. Like the Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon where I ran the 21k, a lot of people overtook me. I completed 6 loops in approximately 1:15, which was about 12:30 per loop pace, which was approximately a 5:30 per km pace, which in the end wasn't so bad after all. And, I've been running/working out solo for so long that I've almost forgotten the camaraderie, love and friendship that comes with running with the Pacemakers.
I was pretty tired after that, compounded by the fact that I've not rested enough and I've only had an hour's sleep. Drove home groggily, and went to bed. Slept for 2 hours before forcing myself to get out of bed. Lunch with my parents at home. Attempted to sleep again. This time, I couldn't sleep. I was feeling physically tired, but mentally alright. I got out of bed and hung out with Mrs Rabbit and my parents. Left Subang at 530pm. Arrived in JB 930pm. Cousin dropped me off at JB immigration where I took the bus across the Causeway. Queued up at immigration, then scanned my luggage. Got onto the shuttle bus at 10:30pm. Arrived back at apartment 11:30pm. Went to bed at 1215am. Woke up by 7am today…
Gonna rest and sleep early for the next few nights…
