Cinya!
The weekend is upon us again and I couldn’t be happier. I’m pretty tired from the week’s exertions and I’m looking forward to getting in some extra sleep and waking up later tomorrow. It has been one heck of an effort waking up every morning this last week. Sleeping late, waking up early.
Its casual Friday in the office but I’m still trying to grasp the concept of what is acceptable casual attire here. I over-dressed today (wearing shirt and trousers- the usual attire of the men here- they are usually tie-less the entire week, whereas I wear a tie apart from Friday) whilst the rest of the office were in jeans/khakis. Well, better to be over-dressed than being inappropriately under-dressed, I say. Now that I know, I can wear my jeans to the office next Friday.
I have only run once this week, and that was on Wednesday, when I was on the treadmill for 20 minutes. I feel awful not working out! At least I’m walking a lot, so there is some exercise there. I walked more than 1.5 hours yesterday evening because I decided that if I wasn’t able to run, I should at least get some form of exercise, even if it less intense (and satisfying) than running. So I walked from Shenton Way all the way back to Scotts Road, with a 30 minutes break at Borders. Heh heh. It was already evening so it wasn’t too hot although I did sweat and also had to contend with the traffic. At least I burnt some calories.
I’ll be in Singapore this weekend. Wife is currently in KL but she will be in Singapore tomorrow evening.
With the anticipation of my added rest tomorrow, I’m pretty sure I can slot in workouts tomorrow and Sunday.
I have another month of living out of a suitcase. Its not convenient at all because I can’t take any of my clothes out of my bag- space is limited at the wife’s friend’s apartment and I don’t want to hang my clothes in their wardrobes (I don’t want to trouble them)- or even when I’m at the hotel, there are only so many hangers in the wardrobe there; a lot of my clothes are crumpled because I roll ‘em- anyway even if I fold ‘em, the clothes need to be ironed again; everytime the wife’s in town, I have to pack in advance the clothes I want to wear to work, and get my toiletries, etc ready. Shuttling between the apartment and the hotel equals the sub-packing I have to do. I leave the rest of the luggage in the wife’s friend’s apartment, and I feel bad for cluttering up their place. So, I really can’t wait to move into the apartment. July 16 can’t come any sooner. Its another 4 weeks away.
Well have a good weekend. Cinya, everyone!
