JOHOR BARU: Eight runners, including disabled marathoners, will take part in a Johor Baru-Penang run in conjunction with Malaysia’s 50th anniversary.
The runners will take turns to run at least 10km per day in the Unity Run organised by the Junior Chambers International Malaysia.
Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Liow Tiong Lai, also project adviser, encouraged other runners to participate in the run at different stages.
The run will start at Danga Bay on Aug 26 and end in Penang on Sept 6. It will cover a distance of 745km, via the coastal road.
Liow said they were also organising a 5km run around Danga Bay on Aug 26 and expect 2,000 to 3,000 participants to take part.
Participants can get their registration forms from Kinsahi Japanese Restaurant in Plaza Pelangi, City Square or Jusco Tebrau City. They can also download it from www.jciurun.org.
Liow said they also needed sponsors to cover their costs.
