Nelly Furtado's songs are catchy
In the aftermath of the Penang Bridge Marathon, I neglected to mention that I had a very bad case of diarrhea. It started sometime after the race. I'm not sure if it had anything to do with the post-race Milo I gulped down in large quantities. Undeterred I headed to have my Laksa, Char Kuey Teow and so forth. I bought the Chinese pill that helps with diarrhea (for the life of me I cant remember the name now, but you know what I'm referring to, I'm sure), and drove home without much problems. Or so I thought. After (presumably) lingering in my stomach for on day, it hit me pretty bad on Tuesday. I had a very bad case of the sh*ts. To the point that I felt dizzy and feverish. Over the next few days I was in pretty bad shape. My stomach was weak. I attempted running on Wednesday and I lasted barely 20 minutes. I felt quite feverish at that time I had to stop. I finally felt better by Friday but I couldnt run. My boss and I headed to KL (near KLCC) for a meeting, and on a freaking Friday evening at 530pm, he announced that he expected me back at the office. I braved the horrendous traffic and managed to reach the office at 645pm. With another piece of research done, I finally left the office around 8pm , time for dinner.
In addition to feeling better, I wanted to run on Friday for another reason- I managed to have lunch Jamie at KLCC; we went to Studio R thereafter, and I bought the 2005 Nike Pegasus for a cheap RM210.00. I was very keen to try 'em out.
The extent of running during the weekend was limited to a 30 minute run on Sunday with the wife.
In summary- last week was almost a complete wash-out in terms of running.
Monday- was in KL again. Lunch with Jamie but we were very dismayed by the hazy weather. We had hoped that the haze would clear by
Tuesday- another day in KL, only I arrived after lunch. Managed to leave by
Today- I won tickets to watch the indie rock band We Are Scientists at Zouk. Since Im here in KL, Ill drop by Zouk around 545pm, collect the tickets, then get changed, run (probably another 8 lapper in KLCC park), get changed (will probably reek of sweat but who cares), then head to Zouk to watch the gig.
Those heading to KLCC, hope to see you there.
