Penang Run

Ran for about 40 minutes yesterday at at 6:30 per km pace. PM5 has invited me to run the rare-ly held (at least in recent years) International Penang Bridge Run with him. The FULL distance. I was not confident, but he expressed his confidence because he felt that my aerobic base was still alright. Heh heh. I guess he's right, but I'm not even confident that I will be able to keep up with him! Still, 30 July is about 15 weeks away, which may give me some time to train for it and (hopefully) complete it within 4:30, I think. It sounds very tempting. Plus I haven't been to Penang in almost 19 years! Believe it or not, I was last there at the tender, spring chicken age of 13. If I start working out today, there's a good chance of achieving that target. And why not? That is certainly something to target towards.

Going to Penang will allow me to, first and foremost, re-discover the place, and of course, sample the famous food. I remember that the nasi padang there was excellent, not to mention the Char Kuey Teow, Laksa, ABC, etc. And because PM5 and PM1 are Penangites I will certainly be taken to the right places to eat. Hmmmmmm....
