Scarlett Johanson was positively seductive when she sang a song in a karaoke room, in the movie "Lost in Translation"
It was a cloudy Friday afternoon.
As I am presently in between jobs, I have some free time in my hands. Apart from applying for jobs, I’ve been reading a book that pm5 passed to me. Of course, I’ve been running as well.
Back to my cloudy Friday afternoon- I was at home, and with the excellent weather I decided to start my workout early, around 4:30pm. The venue- MPSJ track. With the skies threatening to open up, I decided to drive to the track so that if it rained really heavily to the point that I couldn’t run, I could just jump into my car that was parked nearby.
So at around 430pm I parked my car outside of the MPSJ building and proceeded to the track. Total distance run- 15km. I ran 14.4km at an approximate pace of 5:15 per km, and ended my workout with 6 x 100 meter sprints.
Feeling fairly satisfied with my workout, I headed back to my car, and I noticed that the lock on the driver’s side has been tampered with. I could not put in keys into that lock. But the door was already unlocked by then and I suspected that some people had broken into my car. A quick confirmed my worst fears- my wallet, handphone and my newly bought Nike Prestos were stolen. I know that we as runners tend to put many of our belongings in the car when we go running. Suddenly, Jason Lim Fang Hau’s famous pouch becomes appealing to me. This has capped off a series of fairly unfortunate events to afflict me.
I went to the USJ police station to report my loss. After making my report, I was directed to go to the Subang Jaya police station. I really don’t understand this. Why can’t I file a police report and have a “criminal case” opened in the same station? All this issue of jurisdiction is overly bureaucratic and unnecessary.
On Saturday I got a new sim card. I sent my car in today (Monday) to have my lock fixed.
The next few days will be spent getting a new I/C, driver’s license and ATM card. Not to mention my Pacesetters member card, and Holiday Villa Club and Gold’s Gym.
Didn’t run on Saturday. I just had too many things to do. Plus, I watched Fantastic 4. Not a great movie, but in my opinion better than X-Men (not X-Men 2).
Sunday was an easy run of 10k in about 51 minutes.
Next up is the Power Run. I’m not expecting anything.

Sorry to hear about the loss.
In fact, I've yet to recover from hearing that Kelvin Ng has a similar fate on Sunday morning where he lost his new WAJA parked in front of his own house!
I'm equally sad!
