Malakoff Duathlon
We've read about the exciting Boston and London marathons but do you know that there was an equally exciting race, much closer to home? I've seen Dino in action, training under coach at the track and he is one speedy Gonzalez. Below is an excerpt from the Star. Sabah duo victorious in the opening leg
PETALING JAYA: For the second year running, Sabahans won the Malakoff Malaysian Duathlon Series (MMDS) opening leg at Dataran Merdeka here on Sunday.
Defending champion Heidilee Mohamad and Stephanie Chok, who was making a return to the race after a year’s absence, emerged as the winners to take home RM1,000 each.
The 23-year-old Heidilee won the race in 2’07:48, ahead of Kelantan’s Shahrom Abdullah, who clocked 2’10:54.
Belgium’s Kristof van Houdt finished third in 2’14:41.
Stephanie won the race in 2’40:48 while two other Sabahans – Fiona Lim and Mariana Mohammad – clocked 2’46:51 and 2’58:22 respectively to finish second and third.
The second leg of the MMDS will be held in Putrajaya in July with the Powerman Malaysia in Lumut on Nov 11.
