La Bodega's all day breakfast is suuuuperb
How was your weekend? I hope yours was good. Mine? I was busy. Friday night was spent watching Narnia at GSC Mid Valley. The wife managed to get free tickets for the movie. As we all know purchasing tickets outright at GSC Mid Valley is practically impossible. The queues for the tickets are perpetually long and slow. Narnia was ok. Having watched the Lord of the Rings trilogy, I wonder if I have become too jaded with the action scenes. Apparently there some similarities- Narnia was shot in New Zealand; the story is based on fantasy, a mythical sword, medieval-themed, and so forth.
After the movie, headed home where I spent another 3 hours or so watching ESPN. Went to bed at 230am.
On Saturday morning, around 1030am, I met up with pm1 at Padang Merbok. pm1 passed me more of the Pacemakers New Year Run trophies, and some signs, which presumably will be placed all along the specific route round the Lake Gardens. pm21, RunWitMe, and Kevin Chow were there too. It's always good to meet up with them, although for a brief moment, and despite that fact that it was raining quite heavily. The gang were watching King Kong that afternoon. I couldn't join them because I had a wedding to attend, and I had a number of chores to do.
After that I had one heck of a breakfast. I headed to La Bodega with the wife where I ordered their breakfast comprising of fried eggs, beef bacon, baked beans, mushrooms, toast. Plus the wife ordered some waffles, and also scrambled eggs with salmon. It was a tad pricey but the food was delicious.
Then, we headed to the wife's office to collect some of her stuff, before dropping her off at a foot reflexology centre, paying my credit card bills, pumping petrol, withdrawing money, buying groceries.
Then I headed to the in-laws for a short while, having some tea. I was still so full from the breakfast all La Bodega's.
Thereafter I headed home, changed and got ready for the wedding. Met up with pm20 at Pusat Bandar Damansara to pass him his Mizuno race pack, before drving back to the apartment to pick the wife up for the wedding which was at the PJ Hilton.
The wedding I had to attend was the wedding of an old childhood friend of mine. Me, my brother and her used to hang out a bit when we were younger but we've pretty much drifted apart for various reasons, but mainly due to not really keeping in touch and different lifestyles (she's a practicing doctor in Malacca). Still it was nice to see her so happy. But I had to sacrifice watching the Aston Villa-Man U match which was on at the very time!
Crashed at 1am.
Sunday was at church and followed by breakfast with the folks. Then headed home, more chores. After visiting the in-laws for a while, I fetched the wife to KLIA. Had dinner at my parents'.
Did I mention anything about running? I didn't, because I only managed to run when I arrived back at my apartment at 1130pm last night! With the Chelsea-Arsenal game on tv, I started the treadmill and ran at an approximate pace of 5:30 pace for about 1 hour. Yes, I was running on my treadmill in my apartment in the middle of the night. I was a tad concerned as to whether it would be too noisy, but the neighbours haven't complained (as yet) so I guess it is ok.
So here I am, late Monday morning typing this out. As is always the case with me on Mondays, and like Garfield, I am suffering from some serious Monday Blues. One thing to look forward to is the 3 day weekend. But there won't be much rest. Friday night will see me celebrating an early birthday for the wife/Christmas with the wife and her friends, Saturday is already Christmas eve (which will be hectic as hell), Sunday is Christmas day (dinner with the parents, exchange of presents, going to church), Monday will be a Christmas lunch party, followed by Christmas tea. So, not much rest for me. It will be difficult to fit in runs during this time, but I will try my best.
Well, at least Monday afternoon is almost upon us, so half the day is already gone. Bring on 6pm, I say...
