Shakira- Underneath your clothes, there's an endless story- LA TORTURA!
I had breakfast with Jamie this morning at the Citibank Building to pass him his goodie bag which he forgot to take from the PAR on Saturday.
I completely forgot to tell him about about happened to my car yesterday- it overheated. No sooner than 20 minutes of driving, the temperature gauge in my car hit the highest level. Smoke was billowing out of the engine and my car was reduced to a splattering halt. It started at Jalan Damansara (by the CIMB building) but I managed to drive very slowly (with cars behind me honking angrily) to my intended destination which was Jeanne's house. About 200 meters before Jeanne's house, the engine died and I let it glide to the house. Called AAM and they arrived an hour later. Diagnosis- very bad and the car had to be towed to the workshop. It was already 10pm at the time, so I thought I'd call for them to tow the car later today. I drove Jeanne's parents' spare car- a station wagon, back home, and I'm driving the car for the next few days while I get my car fixed. SIGH. More money out of my not-so-fat wallet. Judging from the reaction of the AAM technician (he practically gasped when he saw my engine) it could be an expensive repair. I hope it looks worse than it actually is. Thing is I had sent the car for re-spraying and servicing just recently. I wonder if it has anything to do with the negligence of the mechanics there.
Didn't sleep too well either, thinking of that.
Anyway I didn't run much yesterday- I, along with the scores of other runners- KLCC regulars, even online regulars, track regulars- turned up at KLCC park to have our version of a "modelling shoot". We were required to run slow enough so that the photographer from the Star newspaper could take some shots of us, and a few of us were interviewed. Still it was nice to see such a large group of people there, especially those we hardly see at KLCC- Ajeep, Adam, Ah Toh, Kevin Chow, Yaziz, CM, Chen, Kelvin Ng, Andreas (!), Jason, Thomas and others. Of course the regulars were there too- Azwar (who actually isn't so regular nowadays), Kenneth, Jamie, Newton, Li Sar, of course, RONNIE. Later, the 5 of us were interviewed- me, Jamie, Ronnie, Azwar and Kelvin. The reporter asked why, when we started running, and a few questions on the upcoming MPSJ 10k run, which will be held this year on June 26th.
I have a meeting to attend today at 3pm. Just a last minute thing thrown onto me as I entered the office this morning. And I have no idea what it is all about. Sigh. The other 5pm meeting will be attended by my superior.
Long day ahead.

I have gone through overheated car incidents before. The 1st time, the gaskets melted and there was also damage to the pistons. Had to send them for machining. The car was never the same after that.
Looks like you will be spending more $$$ on your car.
TNS!!! that really sucks!!! big time!!! hope nothing major. does wira have a overheat cut-off safety feature? i hope so. and still, shakira???
What a bummer! No wonder I didn't spot your car at the car park this morn. If you can, stay away from Protons. No offence to those who own/drive them but their cars really suck. In Citi we have so many horror stories regarding this company. I cringe when they launched their "Dare to be Different" ad campaign. I thought whether being different meant having a low QC. It's good that other companies like Perodua is doing well in the market. With MYVI and other makes like City, Getz, Picanto...Proton's share is being whittled away even more. They're hiding behind the gov protection, so it's good the consumers are exercising their buying power correctly.
i have to agree with carboman. my cousin's GTI, got rain water accumulating in the tail light, and the car was only 3 months old!!! brand new!!! sheesh!! GTI!!! the power window is the most common problem. sigh...
