Profound apologies for the lack of entries in the past year! This is what fatherhood, work and trying to find the time to workout does to you- you try to find balance and prioritise the limited time you have every day. On my part, it unfortunately meant that blogging took a back seat. Sadly, my entries will continue to be sporadic. But allow me to provide an update of sorts in the past year:-

1. My daughter Mia is coming to 2 years old. Time really flies and it has been nothing short of a fulfilling experience. I go to work everyday with one thing in mind-to be as efficient as possible, maximising my limited time in the office to do the best possible job to leave the office by a certain time so that I can spend 2 hours or so with my little girl before she goes to sleep. It has been a life-changing experience watching my offspring grow into the little toddler she is at present- walking, running, saying a few words, cheeky, feisty, stubborn little girl. She has started attending nursery every Saturday morning too.
2. I was admitted to the Singapore Bar in February 2010. After 1.5 years spent studying, working and waiting, the day finally came.
3. I have been pretty active, workout-wise, although most of the workout have been done on a stationary bike in the gym of apartment. It has kept my fitness levels up and weight consistent. Running-wise, I just don't have the time to be outside except during the weekends. I usually start my workouts around 10pm, when my stomach is still somewhat filled with the dinner I consumed at 830pm.
4. 2 weeks ago I slipped and suffered an injury on my left knee. MRI scans reveal that I have torn my anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus. The orthopaedic recommends surgery and presently I am in the midst of seeking 2nd and 3rd opinions on this, if only to confirm what the initial orthopaedic said. I am quite certain that surgery is needed because the MRI scan doesn't lie.
Tentatively I plan to go for the knee surgery in mid to end September. With recovery and physiotherapy expected to take some time I certainly won't be running the Standard Chartered Marathon in Singapore which I have participated in every year without fail since 2004. I am absolutely determined to return fully recovered. The initial orthopaedic said that the recovery and physiotherapy process will take 6 weeks, depending on a number of factors and also the patient's own determination and hard work during physiotherapy. So we shall see.
Well, take care everyone. Till the next entry.
